SFArtsED is thrilled to present a series of free visual-arts workshops which will take place every Third Saturday of each month from 2–4 PM in the SFArtsED gallery at 1275 Minnesota Street. Taught by SFArtsED Artist Mentors, these making-oriented events are geared towards visitors of all ages who are interested in creative expression! From shadow puppet-making to paper-pulp sculpture and beyond, these workshops are a great way to learn about new art processes and techniques. Materials are provided and drop-ins are welcome.

Third Saturday: Community Quilting with Tiersa Nureyev
Saturday, May 11, 2–4 PM

Come join the second in a series of quilting workshops that will accompany Tiersa Nureyev’s two year long project Soft Spaces For Hard Times: A Community Quilting Projectan ambitious, super-sized quilting bee that is engaging youth in San Francisco schools and people of all ages throughout the city. Participants will have the opportunity to make a quilted keepsake or paper quilt collage and also contribute a creative element to the collaborative monumental quilt be installed SFArtsED Gallery at Minnesota Street Project September of 2025.

This workshop is free for all ages, drop-ins are welcome and materials will be provided!
