Student work shines in Summerscape 2025

SFArtsED Summer’s 30th anniversary arts camps in June and July were, in a word, spectacular.

Working alongside some truly extraordinary Artist Mentors, students created an astonishing amount of work in the performing and visual arts as well as in fashion design.

In each of SFArtsED Summer’s three sessions, the Art & Design and Fashion Design students tackled different challenges, from 3-D art to mixed media to sculpture to painting, drawing and illustration. Fashion students were tasked with finding inspiration for designs from artwork they encountered in the galleries at Minnesota Street Project and with creating accessories that only they could imagine.

Some of the results of all that dedicated work in the visual arts and design is now on display in Summerscape 2025, the annual showcase of selected artwork created during SFArtsED Summer. The show opened August 9 and continues through Sept. 13. At the opening-day reception, we were fortunate to have many of the artists join us to celebrate their work.
