Internship Opportunity

Work with Professional Artists in the Public Schools

Assistants are needed to aid professional visual, dance, music, theatre, and choral artists in residencies at elementary and middle schools throughout the San Francisco Unified School District.

General Information
There are numerous volunteer positions available. Students may be able to get credit through their schools.

Duties
Help artists-in-residence with managing the classroom, organizing materials, demonstrating projects and giving one-on-one attention to students of various ages, ethnicities and abilities to speak English. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience and to work actively in supporting arts and community.

Qualifications
• Experience in visual arts, music, theatre, choral, or dance
• Experience and/or interest in working with children
• Willingness and capability to learn and bring knowledge of the arts, enthusiasm, generosity, flexibility into the classroom.
• Ability to make a semester/full session commitment
