The SF Arts Ed Players
The San Francisco Arts Education Project (SF ArtsEd) enters the eighth year of our children's musical theater company called the SF Arts Ed Players. The Players began in 2001 and was the natural outgrowth from Artsed's annual EVENT. Formed on the premise that creativity is the key to personal achievement and individual well being, the Players offers young participants a safe and nurturing place to discover the creative process. This group of young performers ages 9-14 train and perform throughout the school year. Young people in the company are given a chance to work on the skills needed to be "triple threats" in the theater; performers who can sing, dance and act. Workshops and rehearsals are held twice weekly and are open to aspiring performers by invitation and audition. The company performs both original musical theater and musicals from the Broadway theater canon. For more information and photos of past performances please see our Musical Theater page.
